This is the library page for both POLS 4292 and POLS 6285. Since the library class component for both are essentially identical, it made sense to only use one page. These are the links to the course websites, where the syllabus and assignments are:

You will be using three online tools, for the most part:

Assignments in both courses require the use of Excel to chart downloaded datasets. In the library class, I will be demonstrating how this is done, but if you miss the class, or forget any of the finer details, I've linked to some video tutorials on charting in Excel:

Although the spreadsheet components of Open Office and Libre Office are entirely capable of creating charts, it is not possible to reproduce exactly the chart given in the assignment; therefore, you will have to use Excel (on either Windows or Mac). Excel is available on most, if not all, public workstations in the library, and via WebFAS.

I'm usually on campus 8:30am-4:30pm; you are welcome to drop in whenever you like; however, you may wish to make an appointment. Have a look at my calendar to find out when I'm busy:

Find a time that works for you, and send me an email. I'll do my best to accommodate you.
