Open Access is a publishing model where researchers share their research outputs (i.e., journal articles, book chapters, books, etc.) in a free and open manner. These digital resources are available online for free, and typically use open licences, such as Creative Commons licences, to ensure members of the public can freely read and access these works.
York University Libraries maintains a list of websites and online repositories that provide access to open access research and educational materials. View our webpage to learn about various websites and repositories you can visit to find open access articles, books, and more!
Local public libraries have a lot to offer! Ask at the front desk of your local library and the staff will help you find the resources you need for your research.
