Creating Perma Links: JD and LLM Students

Link rot is a major issue for legal publications. This guide describes how to use Perma.cc to create permanent links for use in legal publications.

Alternatives for JD and LLM Students

Unfortunately, at this time the Osgoode Hall Law Library cannot grant unlimited Perma access to JD and LLM student. Such users can utilize the following alternative options:

  1. Create a free Perma account granting you a total of 10 free Perma links.
  2. Reach out to Perma directly to set up a subscription package (fees apply).
  3. Take advantage of free online alternatives. We recommend the Wayback Machine:
  • Simply copy and paste the link you want to archive in the "Save Page Now" field and click "Save Page"

  • Then copy and paste the newly created archived link from your browser's address bar to your citation.
