Economics/ Business Economics (GL/ECON): Reports & Working Papers

Working Papers

What is a working paper?

A working paper is scholarly work, such as a book chapter, that has not been formally peer reviewed. Publishing an early version of research findings allows researchers to disseminate new knowledge quickly.

These papers also allow authors to gather informal feedback from other researchers on their work-in-progress.

Many working papers may go on to be formally published (i.e., in a scholarly journal).
