This collection features approximately 4500 full page plates and other significant illustrations of human anatomy selected from the Jason A. Hannah and Academy of Medicine collections in the history of medicine at the Thomas Fisher Rare Book Library, University of Toronto.

Anatomical fugitive sheets provide an early interactive model for looking inside the human body. These printed illustrations are single sheets, similar to broadsides, that depict the body using layers or flaps that can be lifted to reveal internal organs and other body parts, mimicking what one would find upon dissection.

De Humani Corporis Fabrica (On the Fabric of the Human Body) is one of the most influential works in the history of Western medicine. It was conceived and written by 28-year-old c (1514-1564), a professor at the University of Padua.

The College of Physicians of Philadelphia Digital Library is a searchable image database and exhibition platform dedicated to celebrating and communicating the history of medicine. The Digital Library launched in December 2013 with nearly 1,000 images drawn from the Historical Medical Library collection, with strengths in the history of anatomy and botanical medicine.

Historical Anatomies on the Web is a digital project designed to give Internet users access to high quality images from important anatomical atlases in the Library's collection.

Consisting of 90 items, the Medical Illustrations Collection showcases work created between 1935 and 1945 for the School of Medicine at the University at Buffalo by former medical illustrator Melford Diedrick.

More than 80 beautifully illuminated brain specimens highlight anatomical features such as the corpus callosum, hippocampus and cerebellum.
