Psychological tests (or mental measurements) are standardized evaluations administered to measure variables such as intelligence, cognitive ability, personality, or emotional functioning. Tests can use written, visual or verbal methods, and are commonly used in the fields of education, psychology and management. Well-known examples of standardized tests are: the Stanford-Binet Test (IQ) and the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI).
While information ABOUT standardized tests is readily available, it is very difficult for students to obtain copies of the tests themselves. Access to tests is usually restricted to those who are licensed to administer them (e.g. educational psychologists). Please see Guide to Finding Tests.
