Centre for Urban and Community Studies
The Centre for Urban and Community Studies (CUCS) promotes and disseminates multidisciplinary research and policy analysis on urban issues. The Centre¿s activities contribute to scholarship on questions relating to the social, economic and physical well-being of people who live and work in urban areas large and small, in Canada and around the world.

Muniscope Information and Networking
Muniscope is an online information and resource network that tracks down research, legislation as well as practical solutions to current municipal issues. The Muniscope library collection has over 9,000 publications relating to urban, regional and rural settings.

Research Institutes

Canadian Urban Institute
The Canadian Urban Institute (CUI) brings together experts from different disciplines to connect people to build strong communities and equitable and competitive urban areas in Canada and internationally. The CUI was established in 1990 by the City of Toronto and the Municipality of Metropolitan Toronto.

Research institutes are organizations that specifically focus on enhancing our knowledge of a given discipline, disorder, or subject through intense research. These highly specialized institutions may be involved in scientific, data and statistics, or social science research initiatives.
