Once in a database, enter your search terms in the boxes provided. Use OR to link synonyms (e.g. women OR females). Use AND to join different ideas (e.g. women AND politics AND Canada). Use quotation marks to search for a phrase (e.g. "feminist anthropology").
Some databases provide only citations or abstracts (short summaries) of articles, while others provide the full text.
Make sure to note the following information: article title, author(s), journal name, volume/index, date, and page number(s).
For example:
Cutler, Fred. "Local Economies, Local Policy Impacts and Federal Electoral Behaviour in Canada." Canadian Journal of Political Science, vol. 35, no. 2, 2002, pp. 347-82.
This way, you will be able to use that information to find the full text of that article in another database. For example, if you could only find the citation or abstract for the Cutler article cited above, you could then try searching Omni for all or part of the title (in quotes).
