Psychological Tests: Identifying Commercial Tests

Where do I start?

It can be difficult to secure copies of commercial tests. If you need the test itself, consider the resources for finding non-commercial tests.

For commercial tests, the main resource for searching is Mental Measurements Yearbook.  A suggested search strategy is to the right.

The Psychology Resource Centre (available to psychology faculty, graduate students and 4th year undergraduate thesis students) collects commercial tests.  See Is the Test @ York for more information.

Identifying Commercial Tests

Search Mental Measurements Yearbook to identify tests that score on measures of interest.

To check if the test is available at the Psychology Resource Centre (available to 4th year thesis students, graduate students, and faculty in psychology), search the Commercial Test Database.

Undergraduate Students

If you are interested in using a commercial test, you must be working with a departmental faculty member who can supervise your use of the test. The faculty member will also need to sign an authorization form. The authorization will usually enable you to purchase one copy of the questionnaire.

Please visit the Psychology Resource Centre's section on Usage & Pricing for more information.
