Where do I start?

Information about commercial tests can be found using many resources.  As a general rule, use the suggested approaches noted on the right to consult the following resources:

In addition, see what information is available from the test's publisher.  This information can often be found through a search with Google.  

Information about Commercial Tests

Mental Measurements Yearbook provides information on commercial tests including, in most cases, reviews of the tests.  A list of tests reviewed in MMY is available.

1. Select "Title" and enter the test name.  Run the search.


2. View results and select "Complete Reference" for appropriate records.  

PsycINFO may provide references to:

  • documents that provide background and reviews on various aspects of commercial tests
  • research that uses specific tests

Background & Reviews

1. Used Advanced Search.

2. Do a keyword search for the test name.  Placing the test name in "double quotes" will increase accuracy of results in many cases. Run Search.


3. Read the "Preview" for relevant records and access available full-text or use "Find It @ York" to see if the document is available. 

Research that Uses Specific Tests

1. Use Advanced Search.

2. Under "Search Option", select "Look up Test and Measure".  Enter test name.   Select relevant results and click "Add to Search".
