Founded in 1986 by Lawrence and Miriam Adams, DCD is both an archive and publisher. Its collection includes photographs, news clippings, theatrical programs, stage props, moving images, journals and online exhibitions documenting Canadian dance.

Founded in 1992, DHC provides professional guidelines to assist with the documentation and preservation of dance materials. Resources include an online tutorial for locating primary research materials in archives and libraries.

The DNB uses the Labanotation notation system to preserve choreographic works. The collection is catalogued and available to researchers, educators and performers.

Member-based non-profit organization that represents all sectors of the dance community. Sponsors the Dance Ontario Award, and engages in creative partnerships to commission new choreographic works. DTRC is a national organization founded in 1985 that provides educational materials, workshops and networking support for personal transitions into, within and from professional dance careers.

ICKL promotes the use of the Laban notation system and encourages research by and information exchange among the users of the system.

A division of Les Grands Ballets Canadiens de Montréal, NCDT is dedicated to the promotion of dance/movement therapy. It combines clinical research, training and therapy, with the aim of improving the well-being of individuals through the benefits of dance. Research partners include York University.
