Legal journal indexes and articles: Finding full text

Finding the full text of journal articles

The full text of many articles is available through the journal indexes.

If the full text article isn’t attached there’s a Check Omni for Full Text link in some of the journal indexes.

The full text may also be available on Lexis+ Canada or Westlaw, but you need to know the full, unabbreviated name of the journal.

Legal abbreviations websites:

Once you know the full name of the journal click on Find a Journal on the Law Library’s home page and search for the journal. It may be available through a variety of sources, including Lexis+ Canada and Westlaw. Information about print holdings is not complete and some journals are still available only in print. Consult the Omni library catalogue if necessary. Select Advanced Search and York Libraries + Omni Libraries to see if the journal is available in any of the other libraries in the Omni consortium.

If the article you are looking for isn't available electronically or in print you can request it through Omni.

To request interlibrary loans from Omni, simply log into My Account and if an item is not available from York University Libraries, click the “Get it from another library” link displayed on the Omni record.

More information about finding resources not available at York and submitting interlibrary requests can be found at Making an Omni Request and the Omni Interlibrary Loan page.
