Legal journal indexes and articles: Setting up alerts

You can create search alerts to be notified when new articles matching your search criteria have been added to these journal indexes:

• LegalTrac. After running a search, click the Search Alert link on the right-hand side of the results screen and follow the prompts.
• Legal Source. To save your search as an alert link, run a search and view your search results. Click the Share link and select E-mail Alert. For more information see Creating a Search Alert in EBSCOhost - Tutorial
• SmartCILP from Current Index to Legal Periodicals (CILP). This current awareness tool provides tailored alerts delivered  weekly via email as a personalized supplement to the weekly CILP issue. All SmartCILP notifications include full-text linking to HeinOnline’s Law Journal Library. To create a SmartCILP profile from the Current Index to Legal Periodicals landing page click on Create eTOC Alert, follow the prompts to create a MyHein account and then set up your alert. You can set up alerts for new issues of specific journals on these platforms:

• HeinOnline Law Journal Library. See How to Create eTOC Alerts
• Lexis+ Canada (Personal accounts only). Under Secondary Materials click on Law Reviews & Journals. Select a journal you want to monitor, click on the bell icon and create an alert.
• Westlaw Edge Canada (Personal accounts only). Under Commentary click on Articles and Newsletters". Select a journal you want to monitor and click on Alerts in the upper right-hand corner. You can set up alerts for new research papers in the SSRN Legal Scholar Network:

1. Create an account
2. Sign in
3. Click on Subscriptions
4. Under Research Networks scroll down and select Law
5. Click on Subscribe to eJournal alerts
6. Click on Subscribe/Unsubscribe to SSRN eJournals
7. Scroll down to Legal Scholarship Network and select Click here to subscribe to publications
   in this network.
8. Expand the menu and select the series that interest you
