Artificial Intelligence

This guide is a starting point for research on artificial intelligence, including topics in computer science, digital humanities, business, and the social sciences.

About This Guide

Artificial intelligence, or AI, refers to "intelligence" generated or demonstrated by machines (as opposed to living sentient beings, like humans).

This guide is a starting point for using York University Libraries' journals, databases and discovery tools, like Omni, to conduct research on AI and machine learning. It also includes some reputable freely available web-based information on themes covered.

It has sections on multiple subjects relating to AI, including STEM subfields like machine learning, computer vision, and natural language processing, as well as resources on AI as it pertains to social sciences and humanities.

given the prompt "Teddy bears working on new AI research underwater
with 1990s technology" by a human. DALL-E has been the subject of
much recent acclaim and criticism, particularly where art is concerned.

AI at York University

York University currently offers more than 80 AI-related courses across six different Faculties, as well as three AI master’s programs and two AI certificate programs. Over 90 York faculty members are currently engaged in AI-related research.
