Requesting photocopies of material held at Archives & Special Collections

Photocopies

Archives staff are able to make photocopies of archival material (unless restricted by copyright, privacy legislation or donor request) for patrons at $0.30 per page.  This is dependent on the fragility and format of the material.  Archives staff cannot guarantee same-day delivery of photocopy requests, as this task is carried out as time permits.

Patrons taking photographs

Patrons may take their own photographs of archival material at no charge, once they have secured permission from an archivist. Patrons must fill out a reproduction request form and track what photographs they have taken of what materials.  Patrons MUST request permission prior to using their camera.

Audio and visual reproductions

Patrons may request reproductions of audio and visual recordings held in the archives, within the confines of Canadian copyright legislation, for personal and research-use purposes only.  Cost of reproduction dependent on format of recording.  Archives staff cannot guarantee same-day delivery of these reproductions.  If patrons plan on consulting audiovisual materials in the archives, please provide archives staff with prior notice (3-16 weeks ideal), so that stable access copies can be digitized for use in the reading room.

Digital reproductions

Archives staff are able to generate high-quality digital scans of archival photographs and textual documents (unless restricted by copyright, privacy legislation or donor request) for patrons.  This is dependent on the fragility and format of the material.  For more information on rates, formats and resolutions of such images, please contact archives staff directly.
