This guide provides examples for citing business resources in APA, MLA, and Chicago citation styles.

Reference List Citation

Note: This recommendation follows the advice provided in Section 10.4 Reports and Grey Literature in the APA 7th edition manual (p. 329).

 

Author's last name, A. A., Author's last name, B. B., & Author's last name, C.C. or Corporate Author's Name. (Publication Year, Month Day if given). Title of business case: Subtitle if applicable [Business case number if applicable]. Publisher. URL

 

Example:

In-Text Citation: Quote

Note: There is no prescribed style for business database reports in the APA Style Manual. The following suggestion has been developed by York's business librarians.

 

Last Name, A. A., Last Name, B. B., & Last Name, C. C. or Corporate Author name. (Year of Publication, Month Day).Title of report [Report type]. Name of Library Database. 

 

Example:

MarketLine. (2014, November). Uber Technologies Inc.: Calling a cab for the taxi industry? [Case study]. MarketLine Advantage.

In-Text Citation: Quote

In-Text Citation: Paraphrase

Reference List Citation

Author, A. A., Author, B. B., & Author, C. C. (Year). Title of article: Subtitle if given. Title of Periodical, volume number(issue number), page#-page#. DOI if available.

Note: A digital object identifier is a unique, persistent URL for a digital resource such as an e-Book or article.

 

Example:

Lewis, M., Pouder, R., & Beal, B. (2019). Highland Brewing Company: Perceptions of new entrants. Business Case Journal, 26(2).
